9 months old and rearing to go!

These were taken yesterday after we got home from a very long last week of school and parent teacher conferences - we are so ready for a nice long two week vacation!

Hanging out in the tub before bedtime.

She can move pretty fast, and she was headed over to the rocks. Good thing we have all these fun baby toys for her to play with - when all she really wants are the rocks.

This was taken the other day when we got home from work. Quinn wanted to be anywhere but the blanket we put out for her.

She's been standing while holding onto things for a while now, and she can actually pull herself up now too.

Well, we kind of got one in here.

This was taken on Valentine's day. She was so funny, she wouldn't let us get a good shot of her in her "My <3>This was also about a month ago when Quinn was trying blueberries for the first time - yum!

This was such a beautiful morning about a month ago and Quinn was in such a smiley mood.

Quinn turned nine months old yesterday. I'm planning on taking her nine month photo this afternoon. Her 8 month old one passed us by just like the 6 month one. Oh well - I don't think that tiny outfit is going to fit this time for sure! We have her 9 month check up on Monday. I can't wait to find out all of her stats. We are really excited to spend some quality time with Quinn over the next two weeks. Quinn's cousin, Madeleine is coming to visit next week. We are so excited to get those girls together again. We have a great week planned for the Wisconsin girls in sunny AZ. We can't wait!

Quinn's Baptism

This was just such a cute expression on Quinn

Here we are, with Quinn's God parents, Argelia and Alfred along with Father Clements

Quinn liked the water alright - she just fussed a little with the last pour

Here we are, getting ready to go in

It was such a beautiful day for a baptism

What a beautiful day for a baptism! We baptized Quinn last Saturday on 1/24/09. She was so good all day long and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. The day was so amazing. Father Clements, who has known Tony's family for years baptized Quinn in a beautiful private ceremony along with the children's choir for background music at SS Simon and Jude Cathedral in Phoenix. The children's choir happened to be there for practice, so they sang for us during the ceremony - it was so beautiful, it brought tears to my eyes. We had a great rest of the day celebrating the big event back at our house with excellent food and even better company. We kept it rather small, just the immediate family members, but it ended up being perfect. What a special day!
Quinn isn't feeling so well this weekend, so we're really glad the baptism was last weekend. I feel so bad for her right now, she has a bad cold with a cough. This is the first time for her being this sick. Tony stayed home with her on Friday and took her to the Dr. The Dr. said it was just a cold and it will pass, that there's nothing we can do. I might stay home with her on Monday if it doesn't get better over the weekend. Poor baby :( It's the worst feeling as a mom, I just wish I could make her better. She is such a trooper though and is in pretty good spirits considering how crappy she feels.
The Cardinals play in the super bowl tomorrow! I was going to get Quinn a little Cardinals outfit, but I couldn't find a baby one on time, so we'll try to put some Red and black on in honor of them instead. We are so excited and can't wait to celebrate the victory! Go Cards!

seven months, more food, almost crawling, and a tooth!

Quinn on Christmas morning - so excited to see her new dolly!

Official 7 month photo - taken 1/6/09 (She wouldn't let go of the desitin)

Quinn keeps changing by the minute! She is so close to crawling, but she seems to want to swim everywhere she goes - she is so funny - she'll lay on her tummy and flail her arms and legs in the air and then wonder why she isn't making any progress. She can push up onto her hands and knees, but doesn't want to go anywhere that way, maybe because she tries to lunge forward and then face plants (that can't feel good!). She has tried a lot of different veggies now and seems to like zucchini and (believe it or not) avocado the best along with the lime she took off the counter and put in her mouth. She loved the lime - she didn't even make a face, and even cried when I took it away. So funny! A tiny little razor sharp tooth just poked out finally (after about three months of teething) the other day. She love to bite down on pretty much anything she can get her little mouth on, especially her sippy cup.

I am finally posting the photos from our holiday vacation in Wisconsin and Chicago. We had so much fun seeing everyone, and now it has been back to work for a couple of weeks already. I seriously can't believe where the time goes. Speaking of that, I totally forgot to take Quinn's six month photo in December, but I took her seven month one and she still fits in that outfit - just barely though! We are baptizing Quinn next weekend so hopefully I'll be better at posting those photos in a more timely manner.

Quinn is over six months old and we've been sooo busy!

We have hardly had any time to do anything, so we haven't posted in such a long time. Today was our last day with students, tomorrow we have a teacher inservice day, and then, ahhh... vacation! We are flying to Chicago on Sunday. We're really excited to spend the holidays where there is some snow, but we hope we can make it there! Anyway, we don't have a lot of time right now - so just a quick update...

We took Quinn in for her six month appointment the other day and she is still a big girl for her age. Her growing has slowed down a tiny bit but she is still in the top 75th - 90th percentile for weight and height.

Quinn has been eating rice cereal for a few weeks now, we also have introduced oatmeal, avocado (Quinn said yuck to that one!), and we're on zucchini now. She is having fun exploring the different tastes and textures and she seems eager to try more! Such a good eater.

We can't wait to see everyone in the midwest for the holidays! Merry Christmas!
